Hard Waters

Ethyl has begun to develop a funny habit these days…she likes to poo at night!!! ARGH!!! She’s still doing it in the day, but she’ll “reserve” some for night disposal as well.

She knows she needs to poo and knows that if she poos in her diaper, I will get angry and raise my voice at her. She’s very naughty, she purposely tried to be funny and I did scold her on such incidents.

Hubby and I heard her farted on Saturday and asked her “You want to poo?” She shook her head…Nonetheless, we still strip her and made her sit on the potty. She sat for less than 10 minutes and she stood up, running around the house. I warned her that she’ll get a scolding from me should she poo in her diaper and she flashed me a cheeky smile.

In about 5 minutes, she was quiet…she walked to me slowly and trembling…SHE POOED!!! She had meant to walk to me and tell me she needs to dispose her waste, but can’t make it in time. So I asked “You pooed?” She looked on the floor and doesn’t dare reply. Hubby asked “How come you never say? Do you know it’s very dirty?” She’s still quiet and dare not look at us.

“Ethyl, you need to tell us when you need to poo and not let us know after you are done in your diaper! You understand?” She’s still looking on the floor. I lifted her up and told her to look at me. She’s almost tearing…poor baby. She’d realise her mistake… We carried her to the room and attempted to change her…

She got fretful and was tossing and turning and her butt is soiled!!! She refused to let us wear diaper for her. We had to coax her, distract her, calm her and clean her at the same time. Multi-tasking can be tough especially when baby is invloved.

Had a good talk with her after this incident and she’ll call us and pull her pants when she needs to do whatever business. Sounds pretty effective isn’t it?

Well, she’s back to the poo-ing at night again…This time round, she tells…but only after she’s done and she’ll be pulling her diaper away with all her might and says “Ng-ng”.

I almost gave up!

His Say, Her Say…

A Husband is telling his wife…

H: Dear, you have to learn to be more independent. In case I am not around one day, life will still go one for you and the little one(s).

W: Since when am I not independent?

H: You are afraid of roaches and bugs…can you change the bulb if it fused?

W: Why not? I used to change my own bulbs…It’s just that you are around so, I ask you to do it.

H: Life has to go on if I am not around and you have to cope with the kid(s) alone.

W: Well, with or without you…life is still going on for me now. I am the one looking after the kid, you are just contributing a teeny weeny bit as a Dad.

H: Ok, but you need to catch roaches and bugs…

W: I can buy insecticide. No big deal.

H: You will not have a companion…

W: *silence* I still wish that you remember our deal. We promised to die together in old age, holding our hands, smiling. *tearful*

H: *hugs the wife* We sure will!

A wife telling the husband…

W: Dear, you need to look after the kid(s) more, understand him/her better and spend more time together.

H: I will…

W: Learn to look after the kid(s) so that if I am not around one day, he/she will have someone to rely on.

H: I will…

W: But you are always watching TV…

H: This is not a fault!

W: Yes, but it also means you concentrate on the show and if anything happens to the kid(s), you will not know until he/she crys!

H: Will do…I will look out *still glued to the TV*

W: *throws in a white towel*

Is this scene familiar? *laughs*

Parroting

Ethyl does parrot what we says. Just like yesterday, when I was changing her, I asked her “Ethyl, where is baby?” She looked at the poster and said “Baby…baby”.

When I tried to tell her something a few nights back, I said “stand up” and she teasingly said “see-ten”. I corrected her pronunciation but the cheeky girl actually said the same “see-ten” over and over again!

While at the Zoo, I mentioned that she has to hold hands with us and can’t run around by herslf because the road is rough and she’ll injured herself. Immediately after I finished my words, she aske “Why?” I was too shocked and stopped for like 5 seconds before answering her. I told Hubby who was showing more interest in the animals than his girls.

This morning, I told Ethyl “Mommy needs to go and work and will be back in the evening.” She nodded and said “Mee work”.

Some updates on this…parting in the morning has become pretty good…she refused Mom when we were at our house, but willing part with me with a kiss at the lobby at Mom’s block. This is better than a tearful part, definitely!

I told YL over MSN last night about her new found “baby”. I shall try and take some pics and post them one of these days…This really sends me smiling from my heart!

My Birthday Treats

This flower is given by Hubby. I was quite surprised to receive this, but well…I was still happy when I got this from him.

We had our dinner at Sushi Tei. The food there is simply YUMMY! I love dining at Sushi Tei! It was an evening well spent, though Ethyl is always in our minds. We went shopping for her after dinner!
Besides the flowers, Hubby got me a pair of Puma shoes. I got Ethyl the same pair a few weeks back and Hubby knew that I would love to have our little family wearing the same design of shoes! Yes, in the end, he got a pair for me, and a pair for himself.
Ethyl woke up shortly after me. She’s more interested in my shoe. Always bringing it with her and walking here and there.
She’s ready to go!
E: Daddy, why are you always the last to get ready!!!! I can’t wait!!!
We had our breakie at Macdonald’s because Daddy thought it would be such a chore that I had to make breakie for them that early.
Ethyl was a little tired when we reach the Zoo because it was so hot and humid.

She loves looking at the Polars.
Trying to enjoy the show even though she’s sleepy.
Finally dozed off…I used my shades on her as it was too sunny.
She woke up after a 30 minutes’ nap. And saw the Kangaroo.
When it’s hot, she’ll place her hand on her head.

She’s still trying to keep herself awake.
She’s trying hard to enjoy herself in the heat.
I don’t know if she knows what we told her. When we came out of the “Australian Outback”, she saw this and said “Roo”. She loves this and we took a picture of her!
Daddy and Ethyl’s holding hands!
A pleasant surprise! We (Rachele and myself) are really good friends and had the same thoughts! We went to the Zoo on the same day without telling each other of our plans! Yes, we met her and Lyle there!
Our family portrait.
E: I was here!
Her gift of the day…a Winnie the Pooh’s ballon. She prefers this to a plushie elephant. No choice…got her this instead.
The 2 girls!

It’s a remarkable day that we have spent together. Though it’s very hot and humid, but I love this kind of outing as compared to the shopping days.

I get to understand EThyl more from this trip. She loves animals for sure, isn’t really afraid of Kangaroos even when they can come out there fence and hops about…I touched the animal but Hubby was too slow to take a picture of it. *frown* Well…we will make another trip to the Zoo again…I am thinking of coming back in September. Wonder will this little wish be materialised.

Hubby promised that the next stop is…Jurong Bird Park! I really wonder when will that be… Nonetheless, I really enjoyed myself millions and really thank Hubby and Ethyl for accompanying me the whole day!

2 more weekends to pass before we leave for our Genting trip! I can’t wait!!!

footnote: Agnes, I may most likely drop by KL on Saturday (13 May). I am still trying to convince Hubby to drop by KL on our 2nd day. Hope I can bring you good news soon! 🙂

Hopeful Friday

Today is my Mom’s first labour day in her life…I am going to get her a gift as expecting a child and nurturing one is really tough!

Which means…I will be a year wiser, older and nearer to wrinkles. Age is now super sensitive as I will be seeing “3” in another few years *sob*

Hubby says he’s going to give me a gift that I want, but may not need…I really wonder what he is going to get me. Anyway…We will be going for a dinner (just the 2 of us), tomorrow we will celebrate together with Ethyl and we are going to the Zoo!!!!

This will be Ethyl’s first trip there and ours after a near 8 year (or more).

Will update with pictures hopefully on Sunday!
