Speech Surprises

Talking is something Ethyl does everyday. She talks in her own language that we don’t understand, some simple words and sentences that we understand, but the surprises came several times a week on her speech developments.

Scenario 1

*I was haging out the laundry and she came to the kitchen*

Ethyl: Mee…what you doing?
Me: *too shocked to react*
Eethyl: *Still looking curiously at the busy Mommy*
Me: Oh! Mommy is hanging out the laundry. Did you ask Mommy what am I doing?
Ethyl: *chuckles cheekily and walked away*

Scenario 2

*Related by Mom*

(Ethyl was hiding under the dining table one afternoon and Mom asked her to come out)

Mom: 躲在下面干吗?
Ethyl: 坐一下而已啦。

Scenario 3

Ethyl gave us 4D and of course everyone bought that number. It opened and Mom, Anne and Laurence strike.

Last round, it nearly opened the same number again, Laurence asked her:

L: Will the numbers open?
E: *talking in her foreign language again*
L: Will open?
E: Slowly lah…

Every one laughed. When Hubby came back later, he asked the same question and Ethyl told him “slowly”.

I really wonder if she really understands what she’s talking about sometimes.

Shopping Queen

Are traits really heriditary? After discovering that she’s a soccer fan like her Daddy, we also realised that she has traits that most women have…

Shopping is another of her favourite activity. Who did she get this from??

Girls’ Day

Hubby had to work on Saturday (as usual), leaving Ethyl and I alone for (almost) the whole day. I really treasure the time we had together, eventhough it’s pretty tiring playing and doing housework with a toddler.

There is something I did and I would like to applaud myself…

See…she went diaperless for the whole day! Quite an achievement isn’t it? Well, no big deal…Mom had her diaperless for ALL weekdays. I actually took a big step as I usually let her go diaperless only for half a day.

Another issue was…she always wanted Barney VCDs to be on. If I switched it off, she would say “Goal” and insisted that I switch to the World Cup channels for her. This is really a Brian’s little one, no doubts about it!

Hubby finished work quite late, thus we met him at Bukit Panjang Plaza for dinner and had a walk.

Maybe it’s a boring day for Ethyl…but I really enjoy a day like that with her.

Our Friday

Hubby and I applied for leave on Friday for some personal matters and also to spend more time with the little one.

She feel alseep on our way to Suntec…the bus was warm and the aircon wasn’t strong. She wasn’t sleeping really well…but this kinda days are going to end (pretty soon) once we get our own transport!

She’s still feeling tired…

Do you know where she’s going to pull her Daddy to?

What else but a kiddy ride!

She didn’t fret and she doesn’t look at all worried like before! Before the haircut, Hubby was still worried what if she cries and fret…all worries were redundant!

Sometimes…

I really hope to have a proper sleep at night and laze in bed in the morning. All these are not possible (at least for now) when we I have Ethyl with me.

I wish I can take a nap when Ethyl is around. This is even more impossible because I would have to rush and finish the outstanding chores before my princess wakes up. Having said that, my dear Hubby can nap.

I hope I can have my meal in peace. We have to rush through our meals so that we can take turns to feed Ethyl. A hungry woman is an angry woman…and I can’t eat fast, thus Hubby is always the one who starts his meal first and take over the feeding from me.

I wish I can have a good break. Workload is getting very heavy and there were always datelines and projects…I just hope to laze at home, listen to music and play with Ethyl.

I compare the difference between a SAHM and a WOHM.

As a SAHM, I looked after Ethyl 24/7, and never finds it a chore. Though I would feel depleted and drained at times, at least I am happy! Eventhough I can’t sleep late, I find my existence in that home is very significant. I cook (sometimes), I bathe Ethyl, feed Ethyl, see to her daily needs and waited patiently for Hubby to return from work.

As a WOHM…I felt that I spend very little time with Ethyl. I kiss her whenever I feel like and can only miss her and look at my desktop or my screensaver occassionally. I hate to attend countless meetings that were never really fruitful; hate to follow stupid procedures and do all those redundant work that should never exist! ARGH!!!!

But I do enjoy earning my bit. I can buy things I like for myself, Ethyl or even for Hubby. I can have colleagues to gossip with and enjoy those medical benefits.

Things were never perfect…Just live by what I have now and move on whe opportunities comes! 🙂 Who knows I might be a SAHM again! 🙂

Another Weekend

Hubby and I never thought that we would be such crazy parents. All we want is to let our precious one be happy and enjoy her time with us. Well, what did we do? We brought her to Centrepoint for the “Meet and Greet” session with Winnie the Pooh.

It’s been quite some time that we had Mos Burger, so I asked Hubby to take our lunch at Mos Burger at Ngee Ann City before going to the Pooh session.

See how the little one enjoys cleaning the table.

After lunch, we strolled to Centrepoint and bought something for her so that we will be qualified for the minimum spending amount in order to take a photo with Pooh and Friends.

The Q is actually not very long….

We kept her entertained while waiting for our turn.

We had to keep this girl entertained while waiting…

Sunday is a home day. I wasn’t too well…but we still do some grocery shopping, a bit of cooking and some house keeping. After little one’s nap, we took her to the court for some fun!
