The above is a little token from us to Ethyl’s devoted teachers. Ethyl will be in school for a year next week. She joined after the teachers’ day holiday.

I woke up at 4-ish this morning to bake the cupcakes and decorated them…so tiring!!! Planned to apply for leave and make with her, but I have to much work on hand and am unable to take a day’s off…and so, I woke up early to bake because I promised Ethyl that I will do it, and I must do it!

Ethyl gave me a list of names of those teachers that she wanted to give cupcakes to. There were nine in total, and the rest were without icing, and we ate ourselves.

Something simple for the teachers. I hope they like the thought of Ethyl’s. Little is proud of the cupcakes, so am I! πŸ™‚ Shall take a break from baking this weekend!!! Too tired and needed a good rest!

About Them :)

The feeling of happiness is when I see my dear ones feeling happy. πŸ™‚

Ethyl came back with me while Hubby went to MIL’s place for dinner. She drew some nice pictures and she could figure out something! πŸ™‚

Can you tell the above is a sun? It’s a Sun with growing strawberries πŸ™‚

Besides Ethyl who is happy, my big boy is a happy man too! I got him an early pressie for our anniversary…

He was so thrilled and kept hugging me and bugging to know why I bought him this. I know he had been wanting to get this for his work use, a PDA without camera. Since he had been eyeing that for quite a while, I might as well buy this for him. He has always been buying me things, I should buy him something too! πŸ˜‰

This new recipe that I found made very light cupcakes. They were simple and the cakes were fluffy. Here, I will share this simple recipe to make a choco chip cupcakes.

150g castor sugar
175g self raising flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
50g chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C
Crack eggs into a cup and beat lightly
Place all ingredients in a large bowl or mixing bowl
Beat for 2 minutes or until mixture is light and creamy
mix choco chips in mixture
bake the cakes for 18 – 20 minutes.

* to have a lighter cake texture, sift flour before mixing the ingredients together.

Happy cake making! πŸ™‚

My Hobby

It is no secret about my recent baking attempts. I tried to bake after a break of at least 7 years, my attempts were not so bad, at least they love my bake.

It was raining quite heavily yesterday evening after our dinner. However, I was not dampen. Hubby is really supportive and sent me to Phoon Huat together with Mom and little girl.

When I reached Phoon Huat, I was like a little girl entering my favourite playground. I grabbed a basket, and shopped myself. Browing through the shelves, leaving my precious girl, Hubby and Mom behind!

Hubby is always sweet. He knew I need to buy some cupcake cups, he quickly went through the shelves and got me a pack of 100 cupcake cups. I find him so thoughtful, though I never say it.

Between Bake It Yourself and Phoon Huat, I have to agree that Phoon Huat has a better variety of baking needs like flour, types of sugar, trays, boxes etc. For BIY, They have more edible cake decos, more ready made mixes and nice party theme packs. Ask me where I like, I love both! Prices wise, Phoon Huat is slightly cheaper, and there is 1.5% discount if we were to make cash payment.

I am so excited about my new buys. So excited that I can’t get to sleep last night despite feeling so tired. When I finally dozed off, I was dreaming about myself busying in the kitchen and trying to perfect my icing skills!

Eversince I had an oven, my weekends are full of bake, bake and more baking! Until lately, I realise my little girl had a slight change in her usual sweet loving behaviour; I think, it’sΒ time that I should have a change on my weekends.

Baking is still a part, because dear Hubby “ordered” chocolate chips cookies for this weekend, and he also mentioned he like the nutella cupcakes and encouraged me to perfect my icing skills, and bake them nice to eat and nice to look cakes.

For now, I need to tell myself weekends is a no-technology day. No gaming (lately I fell in love with online games), no blog hopping and no email checking. All I need is more time spent with Ethyl, be it for fun, play or for learning.

I am trying to work out a timetable for weekends, but I hate the idea of following something…so, I am gonna change my plan a little. Time table is just a list ofΒ activities we would do over the weekends; it’ll be a “no-time” timetable.

Am also thinking of what I should do for the man over the weekends. I know he always thought I kept myself too busy on weekends, especially if I were to bake, and prepare our meals. For these 2 weekends, I will be sourcing for more activity books and craft material like egg trays and stuff. I a, never good with crafts, but I may want to make something with Ethyl for Hubby on our coming anniversary.

Weekends are soooo busy for us, but we love it! πŸ™‚

What Did I See?!!!

Moms with foreign helpers might want to take extra note.

What did I see? I saw something disgusting…really disgusting that I felt I must bring this up here.

On Sunday, while Ethyl and I were on our way back from the supermart, we saw a maid, sitting at the void deck area with a toddler ( around 1yo). The todder was standing, the maid sitting down. I saw some movements underneath the sarong sling. Quite obvious that the movements were something in between the toddler’s legs. Well…the rest you can imagine.

I felt so disgusted! Some asked me how would I know what she is doing since it’s “covered up”? If you saw that scene, it is so abvious that it can’t be touching the tummy, it can’t be the legs…erm…how shall I put it?!

Was contemplating whether shall I blog about this since Sunday. Talked to a few others and they felt I should share what I saw, since many families had domestic help these days. This is what I saw. Believe it or not…just be more wary.

Ethyl, 33 Months Old

It’s so fast! My little angel is turning 3yo in another 3 months’ time. Wow! Time really waits for no man!

This month, as usual, she had been talking so much, making all of us laugh and frown. Eventhough it was not an easy job to raise a kid well, we are all enjoying and felt life has a new meaning. Dad, is such a doting Gong Gong to Ethyl. He was never this sweet to us!

When Hubby sprained his ankle last week, Ethyl is so concerned. She kept asking Hubby, “Daddy is your leg painful? Oh my…what happened? Pain or not?”. She’s such a sweet little girl!

One thing we noticed is she really hates to be the only kid in the house. She is constantly asking to find this person, that cousin, a friend etc. She is bored. However, I am glad she likes her cousins from the paternal side. We seldom meet; or shall I say they do not meet frequently and she still loves them. Especially the case for Declan and Evelyn.

Last evening when we left the MIL’s place when everyone went for the dinner, Ethyl said something cute! “Oh no, Mommy, I forget to hug Declan gor gor…I forget to hug hug and kiss Declan gor gor…Oh my!”. Such conversations never fail to bring a grin on my face.

Like yesterday noon, Ethyl wanted to keep me in her sight and insisted she sleeps at the entrance of the kitchen and my, she told me the hard cold floor is cool! After she dozed off, I put a mattress for her and she slept so sweetly.

I used the cupcake mix and baked some cakes, you didn’t like them, but when I used my original recipe and bake them, you loved the cake and told me my cake is nice! πŸ™‚ You are such a dear!
